You blast the ground below you with air that softens your fall. You subtract a number of feet equal to twice your spellcasting ability score from the distance fallen, and gain resistance to any remaining fall damage.
When you reach 5th level, you can subtract a number of feet equal to three times your spellcasting ability score. This increases to four times at 11th level and five times at 17th level.
