ZX Spectrum/YMMV
- Americans Hate Tingle: Despite the existence of the Timex Sinclair, the machine never really gained momentum on the other side of The Pond.
- Fandom Rivalry: Used to be a big thing between Speccy fans and Commodore 64 or, in the early '90s, Amiga lovers.
- Played with in The Very Big Cave Adventure, which uses "a very rude word" to activate a shortcut. On the Speccy version, the word is "COMMODORE"; on the C64, it's "SPECTRUM".
- Retro buffs still sometimes argue online about which is better for games. The 64's hardware gives it a big advantage for side-scrollers, while the Speccy had more 3D games. Whether that was down to the Speccy's faster processor, or to most C64 developers preferring to use its graphics hardware as intended, is still a YMMV.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Russians loved Spectrum clones in the '90s.
