The Reapers Series/Recap/Episode 99: Evidence Run!


The second to last episode before the Grand Finale.

After Amiira refuses to listen to Lana's warning of the forbidden spell of the Crimson Necronomicon, Lana Darkhand runs to her younger sister Luna and requests her to get valid evidence on the spell. Bella Redmoon has an idea on doing so, but it's a risky one. Will all go as planned, or will something go wrong?


Tropes used in Evidence Run! include:
  • Cassandra Truth: Amiira Storm completely dismisses Lana Darkhand's warning about the book and simply tells her to gather evidence, to which she tries to do.
  • Cliff Hanger: This episode ends on one, with Luna Darkhand and her friends captured by Valentina Moore and held at the Strikers' HQ after accidentally bumping into her, and the latter walking off with the USB drive containing the truth about the book.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: As part of Scarlett J. Black's Law of Disproportionate Response, she attempts to kill Luke for simply coming into Crimson Peak in the first place. Averted, when she stops and notices that she has chased Luke all the way to the subway station, and ends up never following through with attempting to kill him.
  • Foreshadowing: Scarlett J. Black reluctantly reveals to Luke about how she and her friends met Reaper, and how he became a Demonoid in the first place. She also mentions the origin story revolving her and the Demonoids, and how Reaper accidentally got himself cursed by the Crimson Necronomicon book and its side effects.
    • She also begins getting concerned about the Crimson Necronomicon book and how it will play a vital role in the invasion. This gives the viewers a hint on how badly this will affect Reaper in the final episode.
  • Law of Disproportionate Response: Scarlett J. Black's attempted response to someone crying near her in Crimson Peak (who turns out to be Luke) goes like this:

Scarlett J. Black: Alright, show yourself! And I'll give you a quick and painless death!

    • Upon seeing Luke emerge from the bushes and running:

Scarlett: Hey! What the?!
[Luke runs off]
Scarlett: Oh no you don't! You get back here!

  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: If Luna Darkhand hadn't bumped into Valentina Moore by accident, they wouldn't have been captured.
  • Oh Crap: Upon being caught by Valentina Moore, Luna Darkhand and her friends have these as reactions.
  • The Stool Pigeon: Has a variant: Upon capturing Luna Darkhand, Bella Redmoon, Morty Hellfire and Stacey Hurricane, Valentina Moore phones Reaper about how she captured the 4 rogue Demonoids, completely subverting his original plan, calling it a much better plan than what he had in mind.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Heavily invoked by Scarlett J. Black upon spotting Luke in the bushes and running away from her:

Scarlett: Oh no you don't! You get back here!
