The Clique/Drinking Game

Try at your own risk.

  • Every time you think This series could've been so much more. or something similar, take a shot.
    • Especially a middle school version of Heathers.
  • If you're feeling suicidal... Every time an outfit is over-described, take a shot. (TV Tropes is not responsible for any drunkenness, liver failure, and jaundice that migh--will ensue.)
    • Take two shots if it's multiple outfits being over-described.
    • Take a shot for every designer label mentioned when describing an outfit.
      • Down the bottle if there's a chapter where an outfit is not over described.
  • Every time you think Dude, Not Funny, take a shot.
    • Take two if it's because the Pretty Committee reminds you of the bullies you used to have.
  • Every time you want to smack the Pretty Committee, take a shot.
    • Take two if it's Massie or Alicia.
  • Finish your drink if the book you're reading can be summarized as 'Alicia tries to start her own Clique and fails again'.
  • Take a shot for every:
    • "Ehmagawd"
    • "Point"
    • "Given"
    • "I heart [x]"
    • "Are you a [x]? Then why are you..."
  • Take a shot every time Dylan wangsts about her weight.
    • Take a sip if you want to scream at her that she's probably skinny by normal standards.
  • Take a sip every time you have a horrible, horrible realization about the characters in these books. (Alicia being implied to have breast implants, Dylan having a budding eating disorder, Massie being a sociopath, Claire living a lie, etc.)
  • Take a shot every time the characters are sexed-up.
  • Take a shot every time Unfortunate Implications pop up.
  • Take a shot every time you wish you could look away, but for some reason, can't.
  • If it's an earlier book, take a shot every time you pity Claire or want to comfort her. If it's a later book, well...
    • Well then take a shot every time you shake your head and say, "Claire, what happened to you?"
      • Take two if you wish you could tell her to stop being a bitch and be herself again.
      • Take two every time she's mean to or manipulates Layne.
  • Take a shot every time an awkward and bizzarely out-of-place pop culture reference is shoved in.
  • Take a shot every time you wonder if the author is being paid by all the brands and companies mentioned.
    • Take a shot if you wonder if YSL is the Creator's Pet fashion brand.
  • Take a shot every time it's obvious that Most Writers Are Adults.
    • You won't make it through the first three books.
  • To a lesser extent, take a shot every time you get ideas for a Dark Fic or Deconstruction Fic.
  • Take a sip every time somebody gets away with something.
  • Take a shot every time a Gender Blender Name pops up, like Dylan.
    • Or if it sounds like somebody's last name.
  • Take a shot every time you think You do realize you'd go further if you just ditched the Committee, right?
    • Take two if you're thinking it about Massie. (This is actually implied in-universe)
  • Take a shot every time the Adults Are Useless, or the parents are implied to be the cause of their daughters' behaviour.
  • Take a shot every time a Squicky Toy Ship comes up.
  • Take a shot every time these books remind you of those girls you hated in middle and high school.
    • Take two if their actions were similar--or even identical--to that of the Pretty Committee.
  • Take a sip every time you think, "What kind of parents would name their kid [name], anyway?"
    • Take two if you're thinking about Massie.
  • Take a shot every time you wish it would end up like Heathers.
  • Take a shot every time you think:
    • "I hate these girls."
      • Take two for every "I hate Massie."
    • "Good god, stop describing the outfits and TELL A STORY!"
    • "This is supposed to be a story, not an ad!"
    • "When will Alicia give it up?"
    • "Is the author a pedophile/ephebophile?"
    • "I Need a Freaking Drink... Oh, good!" *gulp*
    • "Go bankrupt!"
    • (to the parents) "My God. I mean, oh. My. GOD. Why would you give your spoiled bitch of a daughter everything she wants? Grow a pair and say no!"
      • Or simply, "Shoulda used birth control."
    • "Am I supposed to be rooting for these girls? ...WHY?"
    • "What are they, 13 or 23?!"
  • Take a shot every time a Shallow Love Interest pops up.
  • Take a shot every time you think "the author's compensating for something, isn't she?".
  • Take a shot every time you spend more than fifteen minutes editing these pages even though you hate them.
