In the War! Comic has the BLU Soldier and RED Demoman became best buds, but the Administrator decided to do some adjustments to break them apart.
In real life, Colin Wyckoff aka Kitty0706, an influential Youtuber, who does Gary's Mod of various games (including TF2) videos, died of leukemia complications.
The Spy community became devastated when StubtieArt (who also goes by the name of Lt. Cyndi Lauper and LouLou), another TF2 icon passed away in Feburary 2011.
- His sister is trying her hardest to update his YouTube channel with his gameplay footage.
- Some Spy mains in order to honor StubtieArt, uses the Vanilla loadout on February 8.
When news broke out that on April 8, 2020, Rick May, who voiced the Soldier, died to Covid-19, the whole TF2 community went into mourning and made their own tributes in the form of fan works.
- Later on in May, Valve added their own remembrance in an update, Soldier statues that quotes some of Rick's lines were added in the official servers.
