Beckett Mariner

Beckett Mariner is a human lower decker who frequently clashes with senior officers. Despite being generally quite accomplished, a skilled fighter, and overall Badass, her rebellious actions have kept her a lower decker.

• Action Girl: One of the most accomplished fighters of the regular cast.
• Badass: A bold and experienced fighter with a rebellious streak.
• Experienced Protagonist: Mariner already has a wealth of experience by the start of the show, having served on a number of starships, and experienced a number of promotions and demotions.
• The Ladette: Has a rebellious streak and can be mean at times, though often warranted.
• Military Maverick: Frequently breaks the rules, often ending up in the brig for it. Still, her actions are typically well meaning or otherwise benign.
• Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right: Will often ignore what her superiors want or what protocol dictates if she feels its right.

Brad Boimler

A goody two shoes who aspires for a higher rank. He can be somewhat cowardly, but when push comes to shove he tends to do the right thing.

• Adorkable: Often acts this way when talking about Starfleet history.
• Clueless Chick Magnet: When working in a vineyard in California, Boimler is totally oblivious to the hints dropped by the women around him.
• Yes-Man: A facet of his Bold Boimler persona.
• You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Has purple hair.

Sam Rutherford

A newly made cyborg. He works in engineering and has a bubbly personality.

• Adorkable: Has an infectious positive energy around engineering.
• Cyborg: A newly minted one, his implant gives him a variety of abilities.
• The Engineer: Is the only main character in engineering.
• We Can Rebuild Him: He had his implant forced on him without consent following an accident. The implant suppressed his memories, making him think it was an elective procedure.

D'Vana Tendi

An Orion new to Starfleet, starting out in Medical.

• Action Girl: Tendi is an extremely capable fighter.
• Adorkable: Frequently geeks out over relatively benign things, such as dogs or the beach.
• Badass: She is an extremely capable fighter.
• Experienced Protagonist: Among Orion society she is well known, respected, and feared due to her experience working in piracy in an Orion Syndicate.
• Green-Skinned Space Babe: Tendi is a green skinned alien woman, but otherwise significantly downplays this trope. She often tries to downplay Orion stereotypes, and dresses like everyone else for the most part.
