Sempai-Kohai/Literature
- In Michael Crichton's Rising Sun John Connor instructs Peter Smith that to the Japanese they will be interacting with, Connor will be sempai to Smith's kohai.
- This is true of the movie version of Rising Sun as well. Smith, played by Wesley Snipes and renamed Webster, remarks "That wouldn't happen to mean 'master', would it?"
