  • Complete Monster: Though it's never all that clear what the bad guys' deal is, it is clear that they start out cheerfully obliterating your seemingly defenceless capital with artillery. Their leader ends up turning himself into an actual monster just to put the finishing touch on things.
  • Goddamn Bats: The light-phobic creatures in the cave and the drones summoned if the alarm goes off in the city.
  • Non Sequitur Scene: The boss of the jungle stage is a weird one-eyed tentacle monster that controls water. Where did it come from? Why did you have to kill it? Why was it on the bad guys' side? Um... Hey look, the next level!
