Paper Mario: The Origami King

Paper Mario: The Origami King is a role playing game entry in the Paper Mario series. The game takes place in a world of paper, where the forces of Origami have begun folding and antagonizing the flat inhabitants.

Released in July 2020 for the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo, it is the sixth installment in the Paper Mario franchise and features origami and stationary themed foes.

• Adventurer Archaeologist: Professor Toad, despite his cowardice, is one.
• Blood Knight: Scissors revels in the fight, intentionally drawing it out, yet confident they will win.
• Brainwashed: A frequent side effect of being folded into origami.
• Cast of Snowflakes: Not to the level of early games, but far closer than the previous few releases.
• Easy Amnesia: Bobby suffers from Amnesia, and gets better in time for a heroic sacrifice.
• Elemental Powers: Can be obtained from the Vellumentals.
• Final Speech: One is delivered by Bobby.
• Heroic Sacrifice: Bobby sacrifices himself to blow up a boulder trapping Olivia, his friend.
• Macross Missile Massacre: Colored Pencils attacks with this.
• One-Hit Kill: Scissors excels at this when they don’t hold back, since the world is made of paper.
• Punny Name: The Vellumentals have one.
• Shifting Sand Land: The Scorching Sandpaper Desert is one.
• Souvenir Land: Shogun Studios is a theme park that draws inspiration from Japanese history.
• Someone Has to Die: Played with for Bobby, the trade is simply one life to save another, rather than one life for a group.
