- Franny grows up from sounding like Toph to sounding like Shego.
  - Funnier thing is that they both have black hair, Green Eyes, snarkiness, they wear the color green, and are extremely good fighters!
- Cornelius Robinson is Tom Selleck.
  - In Japan, he's Kazuhiko Inoue, otherwise known as Kakashi.
  - In Mexico, he's Jose Luis Rodriguez, AKA "El Puma".
Shout-Out:
- Todayland in the Future City consists of Space Mountain and the old Astro Jets ride from Disneyland's Tomorrowland. In a deleted scene on the DVD, Carl has Winnie the Pooh stationery.
  - The Pooh mention is pretty Hilarious in Hindsight, as the directors of this went on to do the 2011 Pooh film.
- Goob's baseball team is called the Dinos, a Shout-Out to William Joyce's book Dinosaur Bob, which is about a dinosaur who plays baseball.
- Also, they go to Joyce Williams Elementary School, a Shout-Out to William Joyce.
