Mata Nui Online Game II: The Final Chronicle is an online flash game that was released around 2003 as a sequel to the game Mata Nui Online Game. This game was used to promote the second line of Bionicle toys and developed by the American company Templar Studios on behalf of LEGO.
The game stars a different protagonist from the original, who starts the game jolting up from a dream.
Due to being a flash based game, it is not easy to play on modern browsers.
Tropes used in Mata Nui Online Game II: The Final Chronicle include:
- Ambiguous Robots: The characters are very clearly mechanical, but there are also some biological qualities to them.
- Fantastic Light Source: The interior of the protagonists hut is lit by a creature in a clear container.
- Fictional Currency: The gear like widgets are used as this.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: It is somewhat difficult to play the game on modern browsers due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash.
- Licensed Game: Made to advertise Bionicle toys.
- Lily Pad Platform: The village of Ga-Koro is built on these.
- Loads and Loads of Loading: There are loading screens between scenes.
- Scenery Porn: The vector backgrounds animated in flash can be quite charming.
