In Code Geass, he got deliberately cast against type as the Lelouch Lamperouge - which won him the very first Seiyu Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role. As the series garnered a lot of popularity, so did Fukuyama's career, where he got to deliver the perfect performance. This role led him to be one of the most famous seiyuu of the current[when?] age, and lands him lots of roles, specifically those with qualities.
