These things about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

  • Best Known for the Fanservice: As is the case with most Trigger shows, Edgerunners has that one hot girl whose fan art is spammed on all social media. Here, it's Lucy, the calculated but well meaning Monowire Gunslinger.
  • Hype Backlash: Due to the tendency of some people to overhype Trigger's shows, this was inevitable. Most fingers are pointed towards the fact Edgerunners is basically an advertisement for a video game that had one of the worst launches in recent gaming history (but, at the very least it got Vindicated by History thanks to patches and a major update in 2.0), as well as the fact the show's really nothing all that new or original; even the artstyle is the same Gurren Lagann-Kill la Kill artstyle Trigger has been using for well over a decade at that point, making some believe that the whole "it's got great animation" selling point is also becoming old hat.
