Carnivorous Shadows/Recap/S1E3: Collisions and Vengeance

Congratulations Reagan and Jade, you have shown us how completely monstrous you really are.

Collisions and Vengeance is the third episode of season one of the Carnivorous Shadows series, and the third episode overall.

Synopsis

The brakes on Keter Evan's new motorbike malfunction, causing him to get into an accident and landing him in the hospital. Only that this was NO mere accident. The motorbike was sabotaged by yup, you guessed it: the entity and her sister. Of course, Keter's twin sister Euclid, his cousin Rianne, and his girlfriend Miura aren't going to let this slide. The three go on the search to find the two culprits and end them. Rianne warns Euclid and Miura about the risks, but the two are determined to get vengeance. Is it all worth the risk though?

Tropes used in Collisions and Vengeance include:
  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: Not only does Reagan and Jade mock Jaylen Hunter for having no friends or family near, but they also threaten to kill not just him, but also anyone else who gets in their way.
  • Blackmail: Reagan and Jade threaten to kill Jaylen Hunter if he ever rats the both of them out to Bawssborough by using this method.
  • Despair Event Horizon: In addition to Kick the Dog, Jade and Reagan find Jaylen Hunter having no friends or other family to be quite amusing, and laughs at him. What's worse is that the two of them have enslaved the latter into doing their dirty work for them, such as throwing the skeletal remains into the water.
  • Evil Laugh: Leon Moretti at the very end, laughs just after destroying a skull with his bare hands.
  • Kick the Dog: Reagan and Jade Moretti laughs at Jaylen Hunter's misfortune of having no friends or other relatives nearby. This trope is quickly turned into Despair Event Horizon as seen at the end of the episode, it is revealed that Reagan has found his address and tells him to not delete the message or she and her sister will kill him on the spot if he ever disobeys them.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Miura and Keter become very furious at Reagan and Jade after the latter two sabotaged and destroyed the motorcycle that costed over $35,000, which makes Keter even more livid.
  • Screaming Woman: Euclid Evans does this when Reagan and Jade disappear, thus appropriately reacting accordingly to being defeated by the two of them.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Euclid and Miura try to take on both Reagan and Jade alone, even with Rianne warning the 2 of them to not get so reckless. Jade even lampshades it, telling Euclid to listen to her cousin before disappearing.
  • Vehicular Sabotage: Reagan Moretti sabotages Keter Evans' motorcycle that he has revealed to have gotten for over $35,000 and causes him to crash into a building, but didn't count on him being surrounded by fire after his motorcycle was destroyed and instead just leave him and Euclid Evans to be in despair as Keter would later be taken to the hospital.
  • Villain Has a Point: As much as Jade and Reagan are at their worst in this episode, Jade rightfully points out how reckless Euclid was in her actions, and how she should've listened to Rianne's warnings from earlier in the episode and therefore should've listened to her in advance.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Reagan and Jade Moretti pull off a devious example in this episode. Reagan sabotages the brakes on Keter's motorcycle, hoping to gain an advantage over him. If Keter somehow survives this and fights back, this proves how strong and powerful the monstrous duo really are. They still baited him into a conflict on their own terms, asserting whatever power and dominance they have over him, taunting him even further. If Keter somehow gets injured or hospitalized, it's one less threat to deal with, forcing him out of commission --dealing less resistance from both Miura and Euclid as well, not to mention the time they gain in the long run. If Reagan and Jade choose to cannibalize him (despite him being surrounded by fire, and not actually thinking of the possibility of their little meal being spoiled, given that they would've cannibalized him anyway in that regard), then this shows how ridiculously powerful the 2 really are.
    • A minor example lies with Reagan and Jade Moretti using Jaylen Hunter as their slave: If Jaylen Hunter refuses to comply with Reagan and Jade Moretti's orders, or if he tells anyone that he's been getting blackmailed into doing their nasty dirty work, they would by certain cannibalize him. If he complies, they gain a loyal pawn in their little game. They could even exploit his fear even further, making him look unstable if he speaks up in the long run. He helps them hide evidence (like skeletal remains), increasing their cover, which is exactly what this trope exemplifies in. Either way, they still gain a huge advantage by blackmailing Jaylen into becoming their servants.
