A new threat, a new beginning.

"The Entity" is the first episode of the Carnivorous Shadows series of the first season.


Plot

In this episode, the city of Toperton is plagued by a series of mysterious disappearances. Mayor Toper, confronted with growing concerns from residents, learns from a surviving victim that the perpetrator is a shadow-like creature resembling a human girl. Determined to confront this enigmatic threat, Mayor Toper enlists the help of his three friends. Together, they embark on a mission to uncover the truth behind the entity and restore safety to their community.

Tropes used in The Entity includes:
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Reagan Moretti, upon being spotted by the police, transforms into her true form, attacks one of the Toperton officers, and eats him. To add insult to injury, she captures his soul after eating him. ​
  • Mugging the Monster: Officers at first think Reagan’s a civilian, completely unaware of her true nature as a Necrowatcher—a carnivorous Shadow Demon—they mistake her for a helpless girl, then after seeing the skeletal remains of a random person on the road, attempt to apprehend her. This misjudgment proves fatal when Reagan literally transforms into her monstrous form, attacks one officer, and eats him, even capturing his soul afterward. The remaining officers, realizing the gravity of their mistake, flee the scene in terror.​
  • One-Winged Angel: Reagan Moretti deliberately invokes this trope by transforming into her true form—a carnivorous shadowy creature who specializes in cannibalism. The officers immediately realize their mistake when Reagan Moretti attacks the officer, kills him, eats him, and steals his soul afterwards.
  • Roar Before Beating: Has a variant: After Reagan deliberately drops her human facade to all 3 of the officers and reveals her true form, she performs a roar before tackling one male officer, kills and eats him before taking his soul.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: After witnessing Reagan Moretti's horrific actions, two of the Toperton police officers flee the scene in terror.
  • Spotting the Thread: One of the officers, Lynette Baxter, seems to be the only officer who immediately spots the skeletal remains when the other 2 officers assume she is lost and in need of a ride home. This makes the officers realize that Reagan Moretti is no ordinary girl.
