Bum Simulator

Bum Simulator is a 2023 first person, open world, adventure video game developed by Ragged Games where you play as a bum with a living shopping cart named Carl who was once human.
Their goal? To get Carl's human body back from EvilWay, the company that made him into a shopping cart!

- Alchemy: In the game you have an alchemy station which you use to make various powerful liquors.
- Alchemy Is Magic: See Alchemy.
- Animate Inanimate Object: Carl, being a shopping cart that can talk and roll on its own due to the experiment performed on him and the bum by EvilWay!
- Big Bad: Mr. Bones is the leader of EvilWay, the corporation that you're up against that has harmed so many people!
- Crapsack World: The game takes place in a city called Bumsville which is home to EvilWay an aptly named violent corporation, has tons of homeless as well as crazily destructive individuals.
- Crazy Homeless People: The Bugs, a gang of homeless people attack the Creeps who are innocent. The former also works for EvilWay.
- Dumpster Dive: The player can scavenge countless dumpsters/trashcans in the game for food, crafting materials, etc. It's a huge feature of the game.
- Enemy-Detecting Radar: Enemies are shown on the mini-map as red dots.
- Evil Gloating: Mr. Bones does this when telling Carl/the Bum his plan. He even gets angry at Dr. East for interrupting him!
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: This game is about you being a bum and how that is.
- Experience Points: The player will earn experience points from doing things such as defeating enemies. The points can then be used to buy perks to improve the Bum's abilities like greater damage to enemies.
- Heroic Mime: The Bum doesn't talk he just grunts emotionally.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Dr. East detonates his bomb right by himself, Mr. Bones and a Bug thug killing them all and destroying EvilWay HQ just as the Bum, Carl and Trixie escape.
- Homeless Hero: The Bum who goes after EvilWay and destroys its headquarters.
- Homeless Pigeon Person: The Bum can build cages to raise pigeons for him to throw in combat against enemies.
- Hook Hand: Mr.Jello, a crazy clown tire salesman has a hook in place of a right hand.
- In-Universe Game Clock: The time (in hours and minutes AM/PM) can be seen in the lower right hand corner above the mini-map. Some missions have to be taken at night so take note of the clock.
- It Was with You All Along: The body that Carl has been trying to get back with the Bum's help turns out to be that of the Bum himself!
- Laser Hallway: The Bum has to disarm laser beams in air vents so that the rats can travel through them to infiltrate EvilWay HQ.
- Molotov Cocktail: Certain enemies have these as weapons and will throw them at the player. The bum can use his fus ro beer as one if he throws it instead of drinking it.
- Pay Phone: Pay phones can be hit in the game to get money.
- Police Are Useless: EvilWay is able to do things such as kidnap people for experiments without the police getting in the way. Not to mention the player and enemies of the player are able to do violent crime and get away with a lot of it.
- The Reveal: Carl (The living shopping cart that follows you and carries your things) reveals himself as the soul of the Bum! EvilWay took his soul out of the Bum's body and put it in a shopping cart! The bum then got a soul of his own from his imaginary friend!
- Rodents of Unusual Size: EvilWay has experimented on people by putting their consciousness into big rats!
- Skull for a Head: Mr. Bones has a skull for a head.
- Snarky Inanimate Object: Carl as a shopping cart, will insult, yell at and complain at the Bum and various other characters.
- Timed Mission: Mr. Jello gives you missions to deliver time bombs to various targets. The timer can be seen on the bomb itself rather than the HUD.
- Toilet Humor: The game is allows you to pee on people with the press of the button and for them to react according with disgust.
- Trail of Bread Crumbs: In this case, in a mission it's urine made by the rats so the Bum can find their base and join up with them to take down EvilWay.
- Transgender: Officer Alex is a transgender female cop who helps the player get into EvilWay HQ.
- Urine Trouble: See toilet humor above.
- Vomit Discretion Shot: A scientist eats one of Hotdog Man's hotdogs and runs to the toilet to throw up.
- Vomit Indiscretion Shot: NPC civilians can be occasionally seen vomiting in secluded areas near buildings.
- Wanted Meter: If the Bum does things such as vandalizing property or attacking innocent people he will earn wanted stars and attract police confrontation.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Carl pushes the Bum into the transfer machine that originally took his soul out of the Bum's body and put it into the shopping cart he is now! He wants to transfer himself back into his body but that would involved killing his imaginary friend which is currently in it. Trixie calls him out for this but he rudely ignores her and insists on doing it. Trixie then has her giant pigeon dump him into the ocean to stop him.
- Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Where the game's city of Bumsville is, is never revealed.
