    Basic Trope: The screen goes black during a fight scene.

    • Straight: When Alice, Bob, and Carol start fighting, the screen goes black.
    • Exaggerated:
      • The fight scene is silenced, too.
      • Even the prelude and aftermath of the fight scene is blacked out.
      • The fight scene cuts to its aftermath instead.
    • Downplayed:
    • Inverted:
      • The prelude and aftermath of the fight scene is blacked out, but the fight scene itself isn't.
      • Epileptic Flashing Lights: The fight scene is messed up by strobes instead.
    • Subverted:
      • The framing of the black screen was poorly timed, so a fraction of the fight scene is still visible before and/or after the black screen.
      • During the fight scene, Alice accidentally (literally) breaks the fourth wall and leaves a hole in the black screen.
    • Double Subverted: (Subverted #2) Then someone covers that hole with black duct tape.
    • Parodied: The screen is blacked out when Bob starts playing Murder Simulators.
    • Averted: The fight scene remains unaffected.
