Another Code: Two Memories/YMMV
- Cult Classic
- Ear Worm: The music, while quite good, repeats over and over and over and over...
- Iron Woobie: Ashley. She goes through a lot of emotional trauma and just keeps at it.
- Then there's D, who keeps going in his quest to recover his memories, no matter how traumatizing these might be.
- Jerkass Woobie: Quite a lot.
- Henry Edward. He lost his right arm in the war, dampening his chances at being a painter and traumatizing him into resenting humanity for what he witnessed. When his grandfather and parental figure dies, his brother tries to kill him for the inheritance money, forcing him to kill him in self-defense. He then tried to explain things to his nephew (who witnessed said murder), only to unintentionally drive him to his death. All this led him to become an abusive drunk who drove his wife and daughter away from him, ending up committing suicide out of guilt.
- Thomas Edward was also this, as he was the one who started the Edward curse by attempting to kill his brother for their grandfather's inheritance (refusing to believe Henry's claims of their grandfather having nothing to inherit), but it's clear it was a desperate move due to struggling financially to provide for his sick son after his wife died, only to end up getting killed. To make matters worse, said son dies almost immediately after due to witnessing said fallout caused by his own actions.
- Elizabeth may be bitchy at first, but it's clear she's struggling with severe abandonment issues and insecurities due to her family situation. She eventually gets better.
- While Ryan had some woobie traits in the original Wii game, his Recollection version is a full-blown one. This Ryan was a Living Memory of the original Ryan Fitzgerald, who died after being the first subject of the ANOTHER prototype. Despite him being a living construct, no one acknowledged him save for Sayoko Robbins, whom unfortunately had to forget him to leave MJ Labs. After learning of Sayoko's death, he started his plan to complete the ANOTHER project to see Sayoko again and find answers of her death and his own existence, even if it meant rewriting Sayoko's daughter Ashley's memories and cause a death of personality as a result.
- Also from Recollection, Judd Fitzgerald, Ryan's father. Despite him being the Greater-Scope Villain and not a very pleasant person in general, he was just a grieving father trying to heal his son from his emotional trauma, only to end up accidentally killing him, keeping the ANOTHER project alive in the vain hopes of getting his son back.
- Moe: Ashley, especially when she's feeling sad or happy.
- Moral Event Horizon:
- Bill Edward crossed it by murdering Sayoko and manipulating Richard's memories to make him a scapegoat. He crosses it even further by trying to kill Richard and his daughter Ashley in the finale.
- Sofia Callaghan drugging and trying to kill Ashley certainly counts.
- Take your pick with Ryan in the Wii version. Was it manipulating Bill into killing Sayoko in the first place? Threatening to Mind Rape Richard if Ashley didn't cooperate with his plan, and then doing it anyway when he thought she was taking too long and making Ashley break down in tears? Trying to screw with her mind and make her choose between her own memories and her mom's to further his goals? Or how about when he decides to just shoot her when she doesn't play along after that?. His Recollection self nearly crosses it by trying to make Ashley an Empty Shell to bring back her mother Sayoko, but it becomes an inversion, as Sayoko refusing to let him sacrifice her daughter for her sake causes him to have a Heel Realization.
- Player Punch: Non-lethal version in Another Code R: you're forced turn around manually for the first time in the game rather than just pressing a button and swiveling 90 degrees to see the ghost of Matt's sister, Kelly, after he tells you to look. And then you realize that Matt doesn't realize she's dead and thinks she's really standing there.
- That One Puzzle: The puzzles aren't terribly difficult, but the 15 Puzzle is this by being the most annoying.
- Toy Ship: Ashley is a day shy of 14, and D was somewhere near that by the time of his death. That doesn't stop them from being perfect for each other!
